Is it always like that?

recently i've been talking to a friend.  She's been married for around 10 years and they have a son.  Now she is going through a divorce with her husband because he went back to china and didn't take care of them anymore.  It makes me wonder..is all the relationship going to end like this? Her husband went back to China and addicted to drugs.  When he came back last November, my friend almost got killed and he took drugs and hit her.  I feel bad for her but at the same time, i am glad that her nightmare is over.  If he keeps staying with her, this nightmare will happen occassionally... sigh!! It seems marriage is not so strong... She thought he was a good man but after 10 years of marriage...what's happening now?

Anyway, i still should put confidence into my relationship!
